AWESOMMMME KEWL DAYYYYYYY!!!!

Just got back from GHG office to deliver Martha (stewart) Vineyard map, almost half the size of a standard plywood (lamang loob din yun while waiting for deadpool script) .Met the head Koala and talk about everything reg comics....before i left, Koala gave me this awesome item that any fanboy could dream of, i have one like this since early 80's but this just one made my day aside from having an original art from whatever...why? look.....

FAST PACED MONTH

Visited my late father and mother , prayed for their souls and asked them to help us in times of need, they never let us down as we face our daily obstacles in life...salamat tatay and nanay.

We miss you so much....

Watched the Legend of the Guardians in 3D , owls everywhere, awesome piece of animation. We let our piglets, Tsobe and Bukoy, play at Time zone while me and my wife sip coffee at this awesome shop where we met Pu , the comedianne?

As for Moon Knight, it was a test of professionalism, aside from the first pager centerspread, i have to work on a battle that happens in , of all places, Louisiana Mardi Gras, i've counted at least 781 people all in all as our hero tries to outwit his fallen brother in acquiring the elusive Sapphire Crescent which said to help them , along with team Avengers, in toppling down the demon of Shadowland via Daredevil..

It was also a test for being in the comics business for years, of not being a SLACKER and do what you have to do, all for that dreaded deadline.

And for that, a 22 pager issue that takes me only 19 days, i narrowly missed my deadline...whew.

A former colleague of mine , a writer from atlas publishing, visited my humble abode and asked me if i can make him a custom toy as a present, no problem. We reminisced the good all days, the truly komikeros, where a 150 pesos script is enough for us to be happy , and if someone had no dinero, we chip in, it was truly a comrade in arms thing and i'm glad i was a part of it even though i was the only illustrator in the circle of writers...but hey, I have 4 novels and series in my name as a writer both in Atlas and Rex Publishing. Man, it was a peak of ingenuity....

Some are gone...and some remains....wish we can be truly together again , maybe in a reunion?

Maraming salamat sa mga umatend sa Comics Odyssey signing, great fun time. My editor Gaspar San Diego was there and ,while signing, we reminisce about the ATLAS days to the new breeds..that was the highlight of my signing event....they just couldn't believe how an illustrator named CARLING DIVINAGRACIA can draw with the brush on steady position while the paper move....how one man named TONYMONKS can gather all the great comics illustrators in the Philippines in one room ...how we played in the editorial room not realizing that we are making history in the 80's and much much more!!!
Touched to see Dona, my former comrade, truly blessed with a beautiful family....
The Lugapo kids, tol kiya kits ,@ Azrael, the history is with Sandy, its for you to document.....

--Surprised to see a kid with a "force unleashed" tbp to be signed, amazement when i saw Haden's signature, and with mine, the circle is complete...
---and lastly, just to break the paradigm...instead of sketching standard heroes, i draw this one , and he was very happy!

Moon Knight at Comics Oyssey

Guys, i will be signing our new marvel book "moon knight shadowland" at COMICS ODYSSEY August 28 (2010 para sure) from 1 to 3 pm. Sana makadalo u . We will be giving away "ORIGINAL artworks" from deadpool "MERC WITH A MOUTH" to lucky comics aficionados...

...CAUSE ITS SO HARD TO SEE....

Been too busy lately, aside from the deadline at Marvel, i'm wrapping up a project for this custom beatles 1/6 scale figure...

Hope i gave justice....

Why Beatles? They were many of the first...i can still recall that in one of their songs , i first heard the effect sound of "distortion" in where , all John would have to do is , max all the knobs at full and be near at the speaker, thus giving an awful feedback and likewise a powerful distortion...crude but effective.

Today , all an aspiring musician will do is buy a mini foot pedal, in wide array...distortion, plunger, delay, wah , phaser and all sort of effects that you can think off...

But in their hey-days, the ground was fertile , too many avenues to conquer, too raw ..

Unlike today, with tech all around you , we can create music within seconds....and just like in seconds, its gone as fast as it was created, no memories, no remembrances...

Unlike their songs...

haunting....full of it.
